Established in 2014, The Department of International Relations, Universitas Islam Indonesia is aimed to equip students with international mindset to encounter challenges and to become a leader of tomorrow in the global era.

Our students not only learn about intergovernmental relations, but also focus on various other issues ranging from political economy, security, conflict and peace, to issues in various regions that are of interest in the global world.

Global Recognition for Future Leaders
Graduates of International Relations have extensive opportunities to contribute to the world and their communities and be a leader in their chosen fields. Bachelor degree holders of International Relations of UII  have career opportunities that are ranging from diplomats, officials in government or non-governmental institutions, officials in multinational companies, journalists, activists, analysts, researchers, and various others.

Career Opportunities

The following are some fields that PSHI UII graduates can enter :

  • Actor in Diplomacy, focuses in a field that influences the decisions and habits of foreign governments and other actors through dialogue and negotiation. Some of the professions included in the field of diplomacy are Ambassadors, Diplomats, Consulates, and Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
  • Actor in Empowerment, focuses on assistance activities for the community, both at domestic and global levels. Some of the professions included in the field of advocacy are actors from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other non-profit organizations.
  • Actor in Multinational Economy, focuses on cross-border business activities, both in analytical and practical activities. Several professions are included in the field of multinational business such as management of multinational companies, business analysts, and independent entrepreneurs.
  • Actor in Literacy, focuses on analytical skills in providing policy recommendations, decision making, and education. Several professions in the field of literacy such as researchers, teaching staff, writers, journalists, and policy analysis.

Our Students and Graduates

One out of four students or 24.7% out of the total student body in our department are exposed to global mobility experience during their study. They have been actively participating in various international activities, such as conferences, summer courses, and student exchanges.

300+ alumni has graduated from our department since 2018 and are currently pursuing career in various fields. Our graduates profile are including actors in diplomacy, actors in multinational business, actors in advocacy, and actors in literacy.

We promote diversity and equal access of education for everyone. Our undergraduate program and scholarships are offered to any nationality in the world. 1.1% of our international students coming from various regions, such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
