Programs

I have been working as a lecturer at the Department of International Relations, the Islamic University of Indonesia since 2018. My research interests include but not limited to issues such as religion and international relations, Islamic political thought, Turkish political studies, and Indian political studies. During my bachelor’s and master’s years, I have been trained to do foreign policy analysis, particularly the foreign policies of Muslim countries and the role of Muslim countries in international politics. I am an active user of the Turkish language and currently learning Hindi as part of my research program.

Hadza Min Fadhli Robby
Assistant Professor, Head of Social Transformation Laboratory

Rizki Dian Nursita is a young lecturer at the Department of International Relations, Universitas Islam Indonesia. She obtained her master degree in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and was awarded as the best graduate with a perfect GPA in May 2019. Her previous graduate thesis elaborates Indonesia’s Diplomacy in the Digital Age. Besides working as the lecturer at the Department of International Relations, Universitas Islam Indonesia, she also works as one of the Editor Sections in the Journal of Islamic World and Politics, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. She also engages in several social-community services and da’wah for youth. Her current research interests lie primarily in the area Islam & International Relations; particularly The Islamic Approach to Contemporary Politics and International Relations and The Politics of Global Halal Industry.

Assistant Professor, Head of Global Innovation Laboratory

Mohamad Rezky Utama is a lecturer at the Department of International Relations, Universitas Islam Indonesia. He obtained his Bachelor of Political Science from the Department of International Relations, Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, and obtained his Master’s of Science from Middle-Eastern and Islamic Studies, Universitas Indonesia. His research interessts are focused on diplomacy, identity politics, religious politics, foreign policy, the Middle-East, and international interest groups. His areas of expertise are Middle Eastern Politics and Religious Denominations and Politics.

Hasbi Aswar has joined the Department of International Relations in 2014 with a research interest in Islamic Politics, the Perspective of Social Movements and Islamic Issues in International Relations. Currently he is doing Ph.D. research on “The Impact of The State Repression on Hizbut-Tahrir Indonesia”.

Is a facility provided to support students’ self development during their study time in the Department of International Relations UII. Established in 2018, Diplomacy Laboratory was designed to develop Students’ academic and non-academic skill sets.

Related skill sets include:

  4. policy recommendation formulation, 
  5. social media engineering, 
  6. data/insight learning, 
  7. using statistics for politics-election,
  8. mastering international politics for business.

In order to develop students’ skill sets, Diplomacy Laboratory provides services below which can be utilized by students and lectures.

Detail

Manual Set of Negotiation

A guidebook of negotiation simulation owned by the Department of International Relations. Commonly used during Diplomatic Course.

Request for Borrowing of Negotiation Equipment

Service which provide negotiation equipment such as country flags and country name placards.

Study Club

Service provided for students of Department of International Relations to organize discussion among students facilitated by lecturers or chosen mentor with related speciality.

Utilization of  Diplomacy Room Application 

Provision and utilization service of web-based negotiation and diplomacy app designed by Diplomacy Laboratory along with a team from Department of International Relations UII.

The activities of students and lecturers and the laboratory programs are published in the release of the Diplomacy Laboratory. In addition, the lecturers, according to their scientific experts, periodically respond to the latest issues published in the Diplomacy Laboratory commentary.

Diplomatic Course is a negotiation training and practice program integrated with Practices in Diplomacy course. The training involves practitioner and academics on designing position paper, exploring negotiation techniques, lobbying, mediation, negotiation practice, and table manners training. During pandemic times, Diplomatic Course is conducted by utilizing Diplomacy Room.

Program for students to practice  policy recommendations formulation started by conducting  academic workshops with academics or practitioners  to widen students’ perspective in decision-making.  Students are urged to formulate policy recommendations based on factual and accurate data with a deep analysis in order to create a proper and precise policy recommendation for decision-makers.

NGALIR is an expertise discussion with broadcasting method published in Youtube Channel Department of International Relations UII and podcast named NGALIR: Ngobrol Ala IR.
